Diya's first birthday
June 3, 2006 fortunately came on a saturday; The preparation for the event started atleast a fortnight before - deciding and purchaing the dresses for Junie, firming up the invitee list, deciding on the menu and the caterer, decision on the venue ( her birthday comes right when monsoon begins ); the return gifts, invitation cards, the decorations etc.
Eventually we decided to have it in the afternoon in our clubhouse which also was the venue for the house warming dinner. We decided to go with the same caterer who had assisted us during our house warming;however we wanted to have the menu that was a combination of lunch and snacks ..hence there was a chat corner and a lunch side apart from the welcome drinks
We finalised on one of the event manager after talking to two folks. This guy came with a laptop to show all this earlier work, which happened to be huge events..Finally, we decided to go with him for the stage decorations, baloons, bursters.
The music was provided by the same person who had assisted us earlier.
We also engaged a professional photographer for the event for the first time and I was quite satisfied and pleased for having done that since I have realized that such events needs some full time attention to get the quaility that we expect. Earlier, one of our friends or relatives used to provide the photography services but I was never satisied with the same either for the content or for the quality.

Battery Girl ...
Junie's eyes are the greatest attraction for me. She has expressive eyes that can catch attention immediately.
We call her 'battery girl' nowadays since she had swallowed a cell that comes packaged with the toys. She banged the toy(mobile phone) to the ground, the impact of which made the cells spill out. In a second, she had swallowed a cell ..There was panic..all the more because everything was closed in bangalore due the death of Dr Rajkumar. A panic call to the doctor in Sagar Apollo allayed our fears that it will not cause any harm, ! ..( Jo kuch andar gaya hai, Use wapas bahar aana hai ) ..Thank You Doc ..
No Wonder She has been turbo charged after that !!!

Diya and her Mom
Diya in her 11 month
I'am back after a hiatus of almost 4 months and one could very well guess that since the last posted pictures of Diya were in her 6 month.
Its more to do with *not* posting than to do with *not* having pictures. This is one of the ironies of the next gen technology. You have it when you don't need it or when you are not thinking about it. And you dont have it when you are thinking about it. In my case, when am thinking of posting the pictures and when I have some time, I do not have the pictures..And when I have the pictures, I do not have the means ( desktop/laptop/fast internet connection/ etc).
Anyway..now I have both !
Diya is playing with her dad's tennis racket. Trying to be Sania .. :-)
